My first Stinky came from Calgary -- it even came with instructions on what to do after an epic ride!

New stainless Hope QR skewer, X7 rear mech, and DeeMax rear wheel. Also visible is the Kona/Brake Therapy D.O.P.E. floating rear caliper system. The QR was necessary because the standard through axle was not compatible with the DeeMax, and the regular DeeMax axle was not compatible with the D.O.P.E. system. Kona makes special QR parts so you can use the D.O.P.E. system with DeeMaxes.

Here is my 2007 Kona Stinky Primo, hoisted on my countertop in an attempt to echo Marquis' series of kitchen shots. Problem is, my kitchen is so small, I couldn't even get the same perspective he does! Anyway, it was fun to pose the bike this way, and it's probably my last chance to get some pix of it while it's this clean.

Mavic QR axle for use with the DeeMax rear wheel. Required in order to use a DeeMax wheel with the D.O.P.E. system on a 2007 Stinky originally equipped with a through-axle.

Photo of factory through-axle parts from my 2007 Kona Stinky Primo frame, and the new D.O.P.E. compatible QR parts that are required for use with the Mavic DeeMax wheels. The milled aluminum QR nut (shown installed) is another D.O.P.E. specific part.

Marzocchi Roco TST with Manitou 600# spring now installed. Just visible at the bottom of the pic is the Race Face Diabolus crankset in Shiny Silver.

2007 Stinky Primo on April 12, 2008 after getting the head tube and bottom bracket faced at the LBS, and installing the bling -- King headset and Diabolus crankset in Shiny Silver. Waiting now for Diabolus seat post and DeeMax rear wheel kit so my current wheelset will take the thru axle.

My former 2004 Kona Stinky Dee-Lux, now serving another rider very well.
